Fire blanket added to V&A Wedgwood Collection

We’re feeling absolutely delighted and privileged in equal measure here at Prosol UK right now. Why? Well, we’ve just supplied a Fire Cloak Electric Vehicle Fire Blanket to the V&A Wedgwood Collection in Stoke-on-Trent.

Over to Gemma Burns, Assistant Curator at the V&A Wedgwood Collection, to tell us why she ordered the Fire Cloak from us…

“As part of my role as Assistant Curator, I’ve been updating our salvage plan for the collection, hence the fire blanket! The fire engine in the photograph was ordered for the Etruria Factory by Josiah Wedgwood I. The engine was made by Samuel Phillips of New Surrey Street, Blackfriars, London in 1783 and it was in use at the factory until the 20^th century. It’s now on permanent display in our galleries.”

This is the first time we’ve ever supplied any of our products to a museum but, as they say, there’s a first time for everything. Hopefully it’s the start of working with a whole new sector for us. Watch this space!
